HUMANS NOT DOOMED BUT...
Gaia theory guru James Lovelock delivers a mixed bag of global warming good news and bad news:
"We are not all doomed. An awful lot of people will die, but I don't see the species dying out," he told a news conference.So, we should stop wasting money on global warming solutions, upgrading our military instead. You know, so we can defend our land or take over someone else's if need be.
"A hot Earth couldn't support much over 500 million."
Mr Lovelock said temperature rises of up to 8C were already built in and, while efforts to curb it were morally commendable, they were wasted.
Mr Lovelock said the United States, which has rejected the Kyoto protocol on cutting carbon emissions, wrongly believed there was a technological solution, while booming economies China and India were out of control.

Any bets on who Mr. Lovelock believes will be the survivors?
The meek...?
I got two basic points about global warming from that article:
1)We can't change it, so stop trying and worrying.
2)The world will still be able to support the entire population of the United States and it's closest allies. Just imagine how much nicer a trip to France will be without all those French people!
Things are looking up.
Minus 23 degrees where I live. And winter doesn't start for another 3 weeks.
That would be the Kyoto that exempted India and China, right?
