OT: More comprehension problems at Crikey - though not from the PP guys this time.
Ruth Brown reports on some photo manipulation at the New York Times and includes a statement from the NYT about the dodgy images. The statement says, in part:
"A reader, however, discovered on close examination that one of the pictures was digitally altered, apparently for aesthetic reasons. Editors later confronted the photographer and determined that most of the images did not wholly reflect the reality they purported to show." (bold added)
Brown seems to have read that about as closely as PP proofread their own work because she follows it with:
"Despite their above claim that “one of the pictures” was altered, New York photography blog PDN has since done a little more investigating, and found several more instances of digital trickery in the images..."
Except the NYT didn't claim only one image was dodgy. They said they were alerted to one and then, on investigation, found that MOST of the images were dodgy.

Actually, I didn't see that coming. I thought he'd gone to the shed and shot himself. The ultimate guilt trip.

Yep, fooled me too. Maybe that line should read:
went to his shed for his axe and... you know the rest.
That'll teach the Swedes for banning guns. Maybe after parole, and other Swedish social forgiveness he'll emerge from court a younger man.
Don't hear about 81 year old axe murderers often.
