THE MORALITY OF WASTE DISPOSAL

Keith Alder, former head of the Australian Atomic Energy Commission (AAEC), thinks it immoral for Australia to mine and export uranium but not take back nuclear power-plant waste for disposal:
"If you're prepared to dig the stuff up and sell it to people to generate electricity, then you have a moral responsibility to look after them."
Of course, if you buy this line of reasoning you must also think oil, coal and gas exporting countries have a moral obligation to do something about carbon dioxide emissions.
