Ever wondered why so many Jews and supporters of Israel seem so “concerned” about Darfur?The answer: Israel and the U.S. are inflating the Darfur death toll to create "humanitarian' cover" for "imperial ambitions to control Africa’s oil and other resources" via eventual military intervention. In pursuit of this goal Jewish organisations have supposedly grossly overestimated the number of Darfur deaths, which, according to Loewenstein's link, amount to an insignificant "50 to 70 thousand". It's truly sad that nominal-Jew Loewenstein is so keen to smear Israel that he ignores reality:
Former U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland said in a recent AP interview there is no question that tens of thousands more people have died since he made the 200,000 estimate in 2006. He cited the dramatic increase in the number of people affected by the conflict and the recent upsurge in fighting, and said 400,000 dead is probably closer to the truth.Anything to score anti-Israel points.

Antony seemed to accept Lancet’s overestimation of the Iraqi death toll when he wrote about 1 million Iraqi deaths since 2003. It would seem that facts are not so important when there are points to be made.

I wouldn't say the coverage given to him by Fairfax and the ABC was "occasional". They seem to love him, and in some cases, he was their go-to guy when they needed a Jewish spokesman, who would toe the leftist or pro-Islamist party line.
Notwithstanding that he is as much a Jewish spokesman as I am a Muslim spokesman.
He is just attention hungry, and will turn up to anything. Shame on them however for giving him such air. His political views are one thing, but time and time again he has been shown, with minimal effort, to have no understanding of basic facts. He's a propaganda machine at best, and it's amazing that "our ABC" has time for that.
