Australian soldier killed

From ABC news:
An Australian soldier serving in the Solomon Islands has died after falling down a deep shaft while on patrol.

The soldier was patrolling an area east of the capital, Honiara, providing protection for police officers from the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI).

The Defence Force says it appears that the soldier fell into a deep shaft.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
Australian forces, no matter where they serve, deserve our respect and support.
