LEFTARDATION REWARDED

This should dispel any doubts you might have about universities being bastions of leftist lunacy: Antony Loewenstein has been asked to join the board of Macquarie University's Centre for Middle East and North African Studies. According to Loewenstein the Centre focuses, in part, on "Western involvement and complicity in the current region's [sic] troubles". Lowy says he will, "contribute occassional talks, assistance, advice and guest speaker organising". Apparently he plans to do a lot more than just assist, talk, advise and organise: "We've got some imbalances to sort out...".

It seems to me Dr Andrew Vincent will have some explaining to do when it becomes widely known he's invited someone as obviously biased as Loewenstein to join the board. Then again, maybe the invitation is a reward for biased services rendered to the cause.

Thanks for the info JF and the links. Have written a complaint to Dr Vincent and put together a shorter statement to Tony Abbott seeing he is on the Board also and as you pointed out Antony intends to sort out imbalances. Maybe Tony Abbott is one of those imbalances. It can't be the speakers . It would be very interesting to know if he has any views on anywhere other than Israel for which the Centre has an imbalance, or if this sorting out is targetted at matters Israel. There is very little doubt about the strength of Antony's ego however.
