10 YEARS OF POLITICAL SUCCESS

John Howard isn't the only Australian politician celebrating a decade of political success:
Thursday is the 10th anniversary of Greens Leader Bob Brown’s election to the Australian parliament.

Senator Brown has outlasted 10 other party leaders. Meg Lees, Cheryl Kernot, Natasha Stott-Despoja, Brian Grieg, Andrew Bartlett, Pauline Hanson, Len Harris (One Nation), Kim Beazley (first time round), Simon Crean and Mark Latham have all been and gone during that time.

It's just John Howard and Bob Brown left standing.

The Greens started with one senator after the 1996 election, doubled to two senators in 2001, and again to four senators in 2004.
There's a quality versus quantity argument in there somewhere.

I would say, and i think most australians would agree with me (if the voting is anything to go by), quality is something that still remains elusive to the likes of Bob Brown.
