KIDS NEED SUPERVISION


As an old codger I can clearly recall the following notice being introduced at the start of the 10 o'clock TV news back in the '60s: "It's 10 PM, do you know where your children are?" Such a question seems quaint today but is still relevant:

A VICTORIAN man is expected to be charged over the brutal overnight sex attack on a 12-year-old girl in Kununurra.

The girl suffered horrific facial and other injuries after being dragged behind a fence in the centre of the Kimberley tourist town and bashed unconscious before being raped, police said.

The girl was allegedly approached by the man who offered her money in return for sex as she walked with friends down the town's main street at 2am.

Very sad, indeed.
