HAVE YOU HEARD THE ONE ABOUT THE MILLIONS OF DEAD AFRICAN BABIES?
I've had only limited success engaging Tim Lambert (he's scared of me and refuses to acknowledge my comments) and his DDT ban denialist groupies in a meaningful discussion of DDT's use in the fight against malaria. Unable to come up with a counterargument, Ian Gould responds to my civil and well researched comments:
Poor Jeff, he desperately wants his 50 (or is it 100? or 500?) million dead African babies, murdered by the evil environmentalists.Even one baby dying due to malaria that might have been prevented by DDT is too many.
At this point I imagine he'd settle for as few as 10 million dead babies.

That's a very stupid straw man argument. From which I conclude that Ian Gould is a very stupid person.
Remember the scene in the first Indiana Jones movie, when Indy turns a corner to find some guy spinning a scimitar, and Indy pulls out his gun and shoots the guy?
Try looking less like a wild-eyed scimitar spinner. You'll get better engagement.
Environmentalists killing babies? Oh, yeah, but of course they were aided a lot by the conservatives who refused to send the money allocated to fight malaria (true), and those who argued that the malaria victims had to be forced to pay for their treatments and preventive measures so they'd "appreciate" the help (true), and by the mosquitoes immigrating from Venus (true or not? Can you decide?).
Use real figures of real deaths, talk real causes, you'll get further with Lambert, I'm sure.
