A quick handed New York Police Department (NYPD) sergeant stopped a violent felon from shooting him in the gut Saturday by jamming his ring finger under the hammer of the felon's .38 revolver, police said.

The graphic which accompanies the article depicts a technique that would only have saved the officer's life if his name was Bugs Bunny.
