Giant footprint found
In order to make soccer fans feel guilty – as is they shouldn't already feel guilty, for liking such a crappy sport – scientists have calculated the environmental impact of the 2004 FA Cup final:

They converted the energy and resources used on the day of the match into an ecological footprint - the hypothetical area of land required to support the use of those resources.They arrived at a footprint of 3,051 hectares.
