More than 10m female births in India may have been lost to abortion and sex selection in the past 20 years, according to medical research.I mean, it's just women being in control of their bodies, right?
Researchers in India and Canada for the Lancet journal said prenatal selection and selective abortion was causing the loss of 500,000 girls a year.

Do I think it’s better for a girl to never be born than to be born into a society that treats her as less than human? Yes.Until women are valued equally they shouldn't be allowed to be born.

JF, how do you respond to this news?
This may be more a case of men being in control of women's bodies. Women have exactly HOW MUCH say in major decisions in Indian society?

I am in agreement with JF and minehost. Good points, both of you.
China and India are both countries with much greater populations than they need.
The simplest way to reduce population is to reduce the number of females -- then get the excess males to have a war over who gets the remainder.
Notice how China is getting all narky about Taiwan recently? They have a lot of excess men.
