Accused multiple-murderer Daniel Gonzalez came up with a novel add to his kill-count while on remand:

A consultant psychiatrist said Daniel Gonzalez tried to repeatedly bite through arteries in his arms while at Broadmoor high security hospital in an attempt to commit suicide because he believed he had not done enough after killing four victims.

Gonzalez also attacked staff at the hospital, where Moors murderer Ian Brady and Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe are held, and assaulted his own mother and grandmother when they visited.

When Gonzalez was transferred to Broadmoor he was accompanied by seven guards, four of whom wore protective riot gear.

Put him in a room alone with some condiments and save the expense of trial and incarceration.
