ORGANIC FOODS ARE BETTER, RIGHT?

Wrong!
Organic rules bar the use of manufactured fertilizer on their crops, so organics use composted manure and other animal wastes on their fields. Animal manure is the ultimate source of the virulent E. coli O157:H7, which contaminated the spinach.

Bash organic food as much as you like, but it is the only option for someone like me, with many chemical sensitivities. My body produces antibodies to a number of common pesticides so I really can't eat "conventionally-grown" food, as I get rashes, brain fog, and GI problems from it.

Organic food being more widely available in the supermarkets is a positive boon for me as it means I don't have to obsess about what's been put on my food and whether it will make me sick. It had got to the point where a fear of food was ruling my life, and I don't want to have to go back to that!
