UNSCIENTIFIC
Number one on New Scientist's list of most inspirational woman scientists is, of course, Marie Curie. Paradoxically coming in at number nine is non-scientist Rachel Carson. Funny how science can be so unscientific.
Harsh but unfair.

I read this and thought of you, JF. :)
Rachel Carson has absolute moral authority - like Cindy Sheehan
why is Marie Curie "inspirational?" The answer can only be because she's a woman. She made some important discoveries, but can't be classed as a genius at the level of Einstein, Galileo, Newtown, or Darwin. Nor was she Gauss or Turing. Those people are "inspirational," even if they are all men.
How is Rachel Carson not a scientist?
