Green candidates defeated

The Left anticipated that the election of Tony Abbott as Liberal leader would produce a voter backlash in two by-eletions held today. It didn't happen:

Liberals knock out Greens in by-elections... There was a smaller-than-expected swing away from the Liberal Party.

The Liberal candidates wisely fought the elections on local issues whereas the Greens concentrated on climate change. Time to rethink strategy.
