Loonig

"National Living Treasure" Michael Leunig, whose work inadvertently received honourable mention in the Iranian Holocaust Denial cartoon contest has this in today's Age.

Awww.... Leunig's relentless support for the Palestinians and disgraceful attacks on Israel result in "hateful mail". How precious! What exactly is the "hostility and trouble" he's expecting?

Leunig may care to draw a cartoon of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed for a change and contrast the response.

Upset Jews are a lot safer for a cartoonist.

Michael al' leunig's anti- Semitic cartoon is not unique. Leunig is well known in the Palestinian activism community circles and often attends Pro Palestinian events.

Perhaps mr al Leunig has regular meetings at their al ' age headquarters with fellow Palestinian activist who when not opening Arab Film festivals or doing University Pro Palestinian Propaganda tours Muhgrabi does his other job as al age's Foreign Desk Editor and not leaving out another al ' age staff writer ex Islamic Council of Victoria board member and , Muslim spokesperson Waleed aly who I imagine all sit around deciding what anti- Israel propaganda should be published each day. I guess Ruth Pollard must be on speaker Phone direct from her office in Gaza.

Dan, I don't think the cartoonist is actually saying that he's experienced these things. Rather he's suggesting that people who are afraid of "hateful mail" need to reconsider whether that is reason enough to not voice concern about war in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Well, that's what I get from reading the words in the cartoon. How did you reach your conclusions about what Leunig means?
