Liberal squabbles continue

Deposed Liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull has accused deputy leader Julie Bishop of turning on him in the leadership vote. Bishop retrieved her handwritten ballot to prove her loyalty.

In related news, Bishop's ability to remain deputy following a change of leader has earned her a new nickname:

One Liberal MP has told ABC Online that colleagues are now calling Ms Bishop "the cockroach" because she has now served as deputy under Brendan Nelson, Mr Turnbull and Mr Abbott.

"She'd survive anything," the MP said.

She may have the survival skills of a cockroach but her appearance has been likened to various other life forms, some more advanced than others.
