Dolphins should be regarded as 'non-human persons'

In an ongoing series of posts Tim Blair looks at some of the silly things said by scientists. I suggest the following for inclusion:



Dolphins have been declared the world’s second most intelligent creatures after humans, with scientists suggesting they are so bright that they should be treated as “non-human persons”.



It's not really fair to dolphins to lump them in the same category as such creatures as mothers-in-law.
