INSIGNIFICANT CREATURE VALUED AT $12 BILLION

A proposed Rio Tinto iron ore mine extension has been canned to protect a colony of primitive billions-of-years-old microscopic creatures. The ABC's David Weber asks The Chamber of Minerals and Energy's David Parker a pertinent question:
Do you think there's frustration in the industry that something so small and perhaps insignificant, could bring a stop to a project that's worth so much to Rio?
Now why on Earth would anyone be frustrated at the cancellation of a AU$12 billion mining project in order to preserve an insignificant creature?
