WORLD RECORD PENDING FOR MOST EXPENSIVE FREE HAIRCUT

An eight year-old Mescalero Apache girl's hair was cut without her parents' permission during filming of the TV series Into the West. Uh oh, I must have ESP or something because I smell lawsuit:
The family said the hair of Christina Ponce, aged eight, was cut without regard for their tribal customs.

"It's part of our culture not to cut a girl's hair until her Coming of Age ceremony," her father Danny Ponce said.

"The only ones allowed to do that are the parents."

His legal papers, which seek $250,000 (£142,000) for emotional distress and $75,000 (£43,000) in damages, named Turner Films Inc and the unknown stylist as defendants.
Steven Spielberg is involved in there somewhere. Oddly, Christina Ponce, well versed in the customs of her tribe, sat and said nothing as her hair was cut. Maybe she was frightened; maybe her 15 minutes of fame is more important to her than tribal customs. Regardless, where were her parents?
