KKK day must be removed from the calendar

Using Columbus Day as an example of overt racism, Antony Loewenstein implores Australians to eliminate similar (but un-nominated) "racist holidays". Loewenstein posted this from Jaipur, India where he's acting, as do all Australians traveling abroad, as an international ambassador for his country.

Oh, god - it's a bloody vlog.

I'm not up to watching and listening to Ant at the moment, I'm already unwell. Maybe later :-/

Anonymous - don't worry. He's not actually in it.

You know how most of his posts consist of plagiarising huge excerpts and only adding a sneering line or two?

This is the video equivalent.

Antony probably isn't do fussed about public holidays, having (to my knowledge) never actually held down a job.

Gotcha Dan, I was afraid it was his ugly mug we'd see, turns out he's just embedded someone else's video. Why am I not surprised, I should have assumed that 1 minute is far too long for him to fill with his OWN thoughts.

He just heard someone else use the word "racist!" and it was like a dog whistle to him, he just had to treat us to the video equivalent of a big plate of stale Copypasta.

I don't care what is and isn't a public holiday anyway, I don't get any of them off automatically, usually working 4 12hr-days (48 hrs in 4 days) and then getting 4 days off, and it doesn't matter whether those rostered-on days are weekends or holidays or not, I still work them like any other. But, other people, who work normal hours and days, like all getting the same day off together, it adds to the sense of community.

I thought, Lefties would be happy, they have Lefties in power in both Australia and America, and have for 2-3 years, but their just as misery-guts now as they were when Howard and Bush were in, what's up with that?

Once again, Antony unwittingly provides entertainment on an otherwise ho-hum Sunday – this video is a hoot.

Some world-class compassionate head-tilting, meaningful stares, WTF squints, a fantastic Afro and finally to cap it all off, what appears to be some deeply concerned Tai-Chi – although why the Chinese would be protesting against Columbus Day is anyone’s guess.

Great stuff Ant – more please!
