Non-expert all-rounder offers opinions on Palestinian soccer match

One HD offers a video report on the first ever Palestinian international football (soccer) match played as a home game. Billed as an "Arab affairs journalist", which he isn't, Antony Loewenstein provides less than 30 seconds of "expert" commentary.

Goebbels was right: repeat a big lie often enough and people will believe it's true.

Having his living room bookshelf in the background is probably a better look than the bong on his coffee table.

Not exactly an impressive office space.

I watched the video.

What surprised me is Channel Ten matter of factly referring to "Palestine". Newsflash guys, there is no such place. I was also concerned that they were showing typical 'poor Palestinian victimhood' propaganda, the same week a Palestinian murdered small Jewish children who were asleep in their beds.

It also seems like Thailand kicked the Palestinians arses.

Unbelievably, there's a member of the Australian Palestinian lobby who comes on afterward, trying (I kid you not) to sheet home blame for their defeat on Israel.

Is there actually *anything* these fuckwits won't try and blame on the Jews?

I can imagine Palestinian school children saying a Jew at their homework.

Obsession: a condition whereby a lonely old blogger uses Google Alerts to limp-wristedly stalk the enemies of his sad fantasy world and writes pitiful blog posts that give Dan Lewis a hard-on...

Meanwhile, Dan says there's "no such place" as Palestine. Good grief, little boy. Get off the internet and go to the library.

Which library branch is that? The Lost City of Atlantis library? Or the Land of the Potato People library?

My local library has a current atlas, and nope, there is no such place as Palestine.

You were saying?

Perhaps there *could* be a state named Palestine, if the so-called Palestinians had ever demonstrated any genuine interest in having one. Instead, they are far more interested in murdering Jewish babies.

The conflict has never been about a Palestinian state. Rather, it is about no Jewish state.

But let's not argue Middle Eastern Politics. I'm sure we can all just agree that Antony Loewenstein is a delusional, incompetent fool, yet somehow seems to be the best the media can scrape up at short notice.

Dan Lewis and Dan's Fan are only partly right. There was never an independent political entity known as "Palestine", it was the name of a geographic region. The majority of those people who called themselves "Palestinians" were the region's Jews. The local Arabs described themselves as "Southern Syrians" (this was even acknowledged by early PLO members in the 1970s). Be that as it may, they're entitled to call themselves Palestinians today and entitled to their own state if their leaders get their act together and stop wanting to kill Jews.

As for football, the recent game against Thailand was not Palestine's first international soccer appearance. A Palestinian team first played in the early 1930's against Greece and a representative team took part in the first World Cup. All members of the team were Jewish.
